Конкурс Insight Astronomy Photographer of the Year в 2018 году состоял из девяти основных категорий: небесный пейзаж, полярное сияние, люди и космос, наше солнце, наша луна, планеты, кометы и астероиды, звезды и туманности, галактики, а также юный астро-фотограф года.
Конкурс проводится Королевской Гринвичской обсерваторией совместно с компанией Insight Investment и журналом BBC Sky at Night Magazine, при поддержке Европейской Южной обсерватории.
