Инцидент произошел в субботу утром по местному времени недалеко от муниципалитета Можу на северо-востоке штата.

"На данный момент жертвы не были обнаружены", - заявил губернатор на заседании, видеозапись которого размещена на его странице в Facebook.

Он сообщил, что поисково-спасательные службы работают на месте с утра субботы. Власти проверят информацию о том, что в момент инцидента в реку рухнули два частных автомобиля.

Как сообщил губернатор на пресс-конференции обрушение произошло после того, как в одну из опор, на которых держится 860-метровый мост, врезалось транспортное судно. В результате обрушился участок моста длиной 200 метров.

По его словам, полиция занимается расследованием инцидента. Принимаются меры для нормализации транспортного сообщения. В районе обрушения объявлен режим ЧС, сообщил Барбалью в Twitter.
